UP-style piston seals are non-symmetrical lip seals of single-acting design. The asymmetrical crosssectional shape insures that the seal remains steady in the groove preventing tipping or twisting, resulting in excellent sealability and low-drift as well as low breakout force. Double acting cylinders require tandem seals in separate grooves.
