Bonded seals are used to seal off potential leak paths on bolts and other similar fasteners. They are designed to create a predermined sealing line once the fastener has been tightened, as the rubber element will close off the clearance gap. Bonded seals are intended to take the place of an O’Ring in certain assemblies. By using a bonded seal, there is no need to a machine and O’Ring groove in the mating part.
